New Transportation System Coming to Disney World?

There have been some strong rumors floating around that a new type of transportation system might be coming to Walt Disney World in the near future! This would be a gondola type ride system that is already in use in several major cities throughout the world.
Disney already has a vast number of transportation options, some of which are very unique. The main one is the monorail system that has been in use since the opening of Magic Kingdom in 1971. It travels around the Seven Seas Lagoon and also takes guests from the Transportation and Ticket Center down to EPCOT. Water taxi transportation is also widely used around the property. They serve all of the theme parks except Animal Kingdom and are even used at Disney Springs. Bus service is utilized at all resorts, theme parks, and Disney Springs. Disney’s Magical Express is a complimentary bus service that will even transport you from the Orlando International Airport to your Disney resort and back!
With the upcoming additions to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, additional transportations options will be needed to service these properties. Permits have been filed for structures located on the map below. While there aren’t any descriptions available for these structures, rumors are pointing to a gondola type system. This would be minimally invasive to construct and would be an exciting addition to the transportation system at Walt Disney World! No timeline has been given for this but keep an eye out for more details to be released within the next few years.

Your Memory Maker, Jimbo

One of my favorite things to do at Walt Disney World during Christmas is to visit the deluxe resorts.  Each resort is decorated in it’s own unique way.  The Grand Floridian features a life sized gingerbread house in it’s lobby.  When you walk in, you can smell the gingerbread…yum!!  Here’s a time lapse video of how the magic happens at the Grand Floridian! https://youtu.be/Si2pcosZjbk
If you’re looking for a yummy but healthy breakfast or lunch on Disney property, Capt. Cooks has the best avocado toast! It is covered with fresh avocado, egg, arugula, tomatoes, goat cheese, salt & pepper. Definitely a must try if you’re at the Polynesian Resort!
