We all have our
bucket list of things we would like to see or do. When I found out my dad wanted to see the
Painted Desert, the Petrified Forest and the Grand Canyon, I said let’s do it.
We took off on a
road trip heading west. We made a quick
stop outside of Amarillo, TX, at the Cadillac Ranch. (Tip - If you go, take your spray paint with
you.) The stop took all of 20 minutes,
at the most. Then we were off to our
destination.
The Petrified
Forest National Park is just off Interstate 40, not far from the Arizona-New
Mexico state lines. There is a 28 mile
park road that takes you through the beautiful terrain. While inside the Petrified Forest, you can
take in the exquisite beauty of the Painted Desert.
When we arrived at
the Grand Canyon National Park, we really didn’t know what to truly expect. To
be there with my dad as he experienced that first sight of the Grand Canyon,
that is a moment I’ll never forget. That
day was filled with magnificent views.
Should you be clued
into your parent(s) bucket list, take the time to help fulfill at list one of
the items. You won’t regret it.
Your Memory Maker,
Shamron
