Recently we were able to test out Disney's new form of transportation, the Minnie van service. This new service is powered by Lyft, and we reserved our ride right through the lyft app! The app itself was very straight forward which made it easy to grab our Minnie Van ride :) I'll give y'all a quick run down below.
When first logging into the app you will select the Minnie Van service car option. The app will then pull your current location and you will be able to simply search for your destination. It also gives you the option to key in your card information for payment, which we did. After you request a Minnie Van you will be matched with a driver. The app will then let you know how long until your Minnie Van arrives. It also gives you the model of car and the exact # of your Minnie Van within fleet.
We waited approximately three minutes for our car to arrive. We took the Minnie Van Service (our car was actually a Chevrolet Traverse) from the Boardwalk Resort to the Polynesian Village Resort (hello lunch at Kona!). We had an amazing driver who was full of information for us to share with you all.
Each ride is $20 and it takes you anywhere on property. You can make multiple stops but they will wait no longer than 5-10 minutes for you. Example: You want to drop your kids off to play at Lilo's Playhouse at the Polynesian, and then head over to the Grand Floridian for a nice meal adult only meal. Not an Example: You want to drop off at Epcot and ask the driver to wait while you go ride test track so they can take you back to your resort. She informed us there is no time limit on your ride as long as you have a destination in route, you are able to make short stops as needed.
Another cool fact is all the Minnie Van drivers have been employed by the Walt Disney Company for at least three years. They know the property, how things work, basically all the ins and outs. Our driver referred to herself as Guest Relations on wheels! Which is just another added touch of Disney magic in my opinion.
My favorite fact about the new car service was that all cars are equipped with car seats. Each driver is certified in car seat safety and installation as well! Which makes this service an option for all families with car seat aged children. That makes this momma's heart extra happy.
Overall I thought the Minnie Van service was an excellent value! No long bus lines, no hanging onto your stroller while hanging on to you child in a moving bus, no over crowded buses with people standing on top of you, and most importantly very little to no wait! This is a service my family will 100% be using on all future trips! Thanks for the new transportation option Disney :)
