Today, I want to tell you about one of the newest restaurants at Walt Disney World but I think it’s the one that gets overlooked the most. The Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen restaurant opened a couple years ago and immediately got a bad rap for it’s “out there” menu. Admittedly, it took us a little while to try it - what can I say, my kids are picky. This past trip I decided we were going to try it and I’m so glad we did!! This highly themed restaurant is just across from the Jungle Cruise attraction in Magic Kingdom. When you walk inside, you feel as if you’ve been transformed to the continent of Africa and there are touches of the Jungle Cruise everywhere - including the Wall of China, a model of the Jungle Cruise boats and even fun chandeliers and artwork on the walls. But the atmosphere isn’t the best part - it’s the food! We ordered the Punch Line Punch as our drink and it was so good. Very refreshing on a hot day in the parks! For our appetizer we ordered the S.E.A Shu Mai. These are basically dumplings with a hint of spice - so yummy!! For our entrees we ordered the Baa Baa Berber Lamp Chops and the Skip’s Beefy Baked Pasta. Both were delicious - even my picky teenager loved them. Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen is a great option for lunch or dinner and you can often grab a last minute reservation. So go try it next time you’re in Magic Kingdom - you won’t be sorry!
