My family’s favorite Walt Disney World resort is Port Orleans French Quarter.  It’s the smallest of the moderate resorts on property so even if you have a standard room, it never feels like a long walk to your room.  We love the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Food Court and if you’re wanting table service, Boatwrights at Riverside is just a short walk away.  The pool at French Quarter is so fun with it’s serpent themed waterslide and splash play area for little ones.  When you’re wanting to visit Disney Springs, it’s a relaxing boat ride away along the Sassagoula River.  Our favorite feature of this resort is the landscaping - you feel as if you’ve traveled to New Orleans, not Florida.  There is beautiful ironwork that you see in the real French Quarter, cobblestone walkways, and moss covered trees.  French Quarter should definitely be on your list to check out next time you’re in Walt Disney World! Express Transportation at Walt Disney World                   Introduced late last year, Express Transportation at the Walt Disney World Resort is a paid option that allows you to easily go between the four parks with an annual pass or park hopper ticket option. This fast, nonstop service picks you up and drops you off inside the main gate for greater ease and comfort. There is no need to reenter the park main gate which saves time and walking!                   There are two Express Transportation tickets to choose from: a single-day for $19 or $29 for up to seven consecutive days. I’m often surprised by my two year old’s reaction to things. For instance, he’s terrified of his Mr. Potato Head that’s dressed up as a Storm Trooper. But when we took him to the Launch Bay in Hollywood Studios, he walked right up to Kylo Ren and told him he loved him. I get asked if taking a child under a certain age to Disney World is a good idea. The answer? Of course it is. One of my family’s favorite places to eat in Walt Disney World is Via Napoli in the Italy pavilion at Epcot.  This beautiful restaurant features authentic Italian food in a very relaxed atmosphere.  Our favorite item on the menu is pizza!  This pizza is some of the best you’ll ever eat -  fresh cheese, San Marzano tomatoes and thin crust made with flour imported from Italy.  The pizzas are cooked  in pizza ovens that are the centerpiece of the restaurant.  These ovens are named after active volcanoes in Italy - Mount Etna, Mount Vesuvius and Stromboli If pizza isn’t your thing, don’t worry.  Via Napoli has wonderful appetizers, salads, pasta dishes and desserts as well.  For adults, they have a great selection of wines and beers.

We all have our bucket list of things we would like to see or do.   When I found out my dad wanted to see the Painted Desert, the Petrified Forest and the Grand Canyon, I said let’s do it. We took off on a road trip heading west.   We made a quick stop outside of Amarillo, TX, at the Cadillac Ranch.   (Tip - If you go, take your spray paint with you.)   The stop took all of 20 minutes, at the most.   Then we were off to our destination.   The Petrified Forest National Park is just off Interstate 40, not far from the Arizona-New Mexico state lines.   There is a 28 mile park road that takes you through the beautiful terrain.   While inside the Petrified Forest, you can take in the exquisite beauty of the Painted Desert.   When we arrived at the Grand Canyon National Park, we really didn’t know what to truly expect.
