The Disney Fantasy: A Look Inside the Grand Atrium

In the beginning of our journey inside the newest member of Disney's fleet (The Fantasy), the Grand Atrium boasts extravagant detail and exquisite decor. From the large pieces, to the finite details, Disney's creative hand is at work throughout this ship. If you love the magical and meticulous detail that is all things Disney, you will LOVE the Disney Fantasy!

A look down the hallway toward the Stern (back of the ship), gives you may picturesque opportunities.

As you enter the Fantasy, you are greeted with the beautiful and intricate details of the Grand Atrium.

As you embark the ship, looking toward the Stern (Back of ship), you will find a Guest Relations Desk, with friendly Cast Members to answer any questions you may have.

A host of the Disney characters you know and love, appear in the walls. floors, and ceilings all throughout the ship.

Situated above every elevator, is Mickey's hand, guiding you to your destination.

Even the light fixtures show Disney's love for creativity!

Hidden Mickeys are all over the ship! This on is in the Grand Atrium!

More exquisite light fixtures are placed all over the ship to help illuminate your way to a magical vacation!

Who else to greet passengers as you embark, but Minnie Mouse!

Once your little princess or pirate (Pirates in the Caribbean Party Night) has been through his or her magical transformation, this is the view of the Grand Atrium as you exit the Boutique! **Also, on Pirates in the Caribbean Party Night, there will be fireworks you won't want to miss!! Disney is the only Cruise line that has fireworks at sea!

I had a picture made last year in front of the Cinderella mural on the Disney Dream, so I wanted one made this year on the Disney Fantasy! I think I'll make it a tradition from now on!

Happy Birthday Mickey!

Did you know today is Mickey's Birthday? Although his personality has evolved and changed over the years, kids' and families' love for Mickey has remained as popular as ever. From being the mischievous and adventurous troublemaker when he was first created, to a lovable, cheerful hero, Mickey has always been known as a universal symbol of friendship and family values. Walt, on his first television show as he surveyed Disneyland said,  "I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing... that it was all started by a Mouse."  This famous Mickey Mouse, made his screen debut on November 18 several decades back as the star of the first sound cartoon, Steamboat Willie, and has, since then, become an indelible icon. He is not only the personification of everything Disney, but also one of the most universal symbols of magical childhood memories for kids across the world. "Mickey is the world's most lovable mouse who epitomizes all that makes Disney special...

The Disney Dream-- A Grand Enterance

I will have to say that my words and pictures will not even give you and idea of how grand this ship is. To be able to smell the newness of this ship is indescribable. So see the grand lobby, the larger than my house chandler, the character carvings in the stair cases, and the beautiful colors, is even overwhelming to me. I have to set the scene for you. We are in the Disney Cruise Terminal, waiting for our assigned letter to be called. As we wait we are greeted by (I will blog about character experiences later) Minnie, Mickey and Goofy. Finally, it is our time to get on this grand ship. We walk up the glass walk way and we hear "The Disney Dream would like to welcome Classic Travel Connection". We all squeal like little girls, and we are here. We are on the newest and best ship in the travel industry. Oh, it is good to be the Zip-a-dee-doo-dah Diva. I love my job!!!
