Are we there yet????

So...we have had a very interesting 30 hours. It all stared with a very bad thunder storm when we left our home to catch our first flight. I knew as we were walking out our front door that our flight would be delayed......and boy was it!!! Our plane that would take us to Atlanta to board our flight to Rome, could not land and was diverted. What was only suppose to be a total of 11 hours of travel time turned into well over 24. We missed 2 flights out of Atlanta that would take us to Rome. Our original flight was a non stop from Atlanta. I have to give MAJOR props to Delta!!! They were able to find us a flight where my hubby and I could sit together......and only one stop in Paris. So I got an extra stamp on my passport....so that was cool. Got to make some lemonade out of all of those lemons. However this story is not over. We FINALLY arrive in Rome and my hubby's luggage does not. BOOHOO!!!!! However, the Adventure by Disney team has been AMAZING!!! From helping us with rearranging our flights to hopefully tracking down luggage. They met us at the front desk with a huge and a glass of much needed wine! So even though this travel day has not gone as planned, we had amazing welcome dinner.

A few things that I would recommend as a travel professional that we have done to help make the journey a little easier...
1- Pack a carry on with at least 2-3 days worth of clothing.
2- Purchase Travel Insurance
3- Pack your positive attitude......you can't control the weather.

Just look at this amazing Rome skyline.

So even though it was not the way we planned to travel, we are here, and its beautiful!!! Follow along with me this week as I experience Adventures by Disney!!!

Happy Birthday Mickey!

Did you know today is Mickey's Birthday? Although his personality has evolved and changed over the years, kids' and families' love for Mickey has remained as popular as ever. From being the mischievous and adventurous troublemaker when he was first created, to a lovable, cheerful hero, Mickey has always been known as a universal symbol of friendship and family values. Walt, on his first television show as he surveyed Disneyland said,  "I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing... that it was all started by a Mouse."  This famous Mickey Mouse, made his screen debut on November 18 several decades back as the star of the first sound cartoon, Steamboat Willie, and has, since then, become an indelible icon. He is not only the personification of everything Disney, but also one of the most universal symbols of magical childhood memories for kids across the world. "Mickey is the world's most lovable mouse who epitomizes all that makes Disney special...

The Disney Dream-- A Grand Enterance

I will have to say that my words and pictures will not even give you and idea of how grand this ship is. To be able to smell the newness of this ship is indescribable. So see the grand lobby, the larger than my house chandler, the character carvings in the stair cases, and the beautiful colors, is even overwhelming to me. I have to set the scene for you. We are in the Disney Cruise Terminal, waiting for our assigned letter to be called. As we wait we are greeted by (I will blog about character experiences later) Minnie, Mickey and Goofy. Finally, it is our time to get on this grand ship. We walk up the glass walk way and we hear "The Disney Dream would like to welcome Classic Travel Connection". We all squeal like little girls, and we are here. We are on the newest and best ship in the travel industry. Oh, it is good to be the Zip-a-dee-doo-dah Diva. I love my job!!!
