Stitch’s Great Escape to close forever…
A
final closing date has finally been set for Stitch’s Great Escape at the Magic
Kingdom. January 6, 2018 will be the
last day of operation for this much maligned Tomorrowland attraction. Stitch’s
Great Escape replaced the ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter in 2004 and has
never been a very well received attraction. Stitch’s Great Escape has been
operating seasonally since October 2, 2016. There is no word on what attraction
will replace Stitch’s but rumors over the last few years have pointed to a
Wreck-It-Ralph attraction. With the 50th Anniversary of the Walt
Disney World Resort coming up in 2021, it may be a few years until we see
something new in this space. Several new Magic Kingdom attractions are
scheduled to open by then and the same should be true of this space!
